Abstract
To study on the aspects of growth and the responses of Streptococcus sp. on the treatment of fluoride compounds, Streptococcus mutans(KCTC 3065) and Streptococcus sobrinus(KCTC 3288) is used in this experiment. These strains is treated at various conditions that is basically depending on the changes of pH, concentrations of sodium chloride, concentrations and kinds of fluoride compounds and so on. And it is followed by spectrophotometric analyses to investigate on the change of growth patterns. The results as follows: 1. Effects of fluoride compounds on the growth pattern of Streptococcus mutans(KCTC 3065) were revealed that growth-inhibitory effect of SnF©ü is appeared at the concentrations of 1 mM or more and that of NaF is showed at 10 mM or more. 2. Effects of fluoride compounds on the growth pattern of Streptococcus sobrinus(KCTC 3288) were revealed that growth-inhibitory effect of SnF©ü is appeared at the concentrations of 1 mM or more and that of NaF is showed at 30 mM or more. 3. In the media conditions that is containing 50 mM NaF, growth-inhibitory effect is critically increased at below pH 6.5. 4. In the media conditions that is containing 50 mN NaF, growth-inhibitory effect is increased step by step at 0.5M NaCl concentrations or more.
